The 529

The brief

The 529 runs culture-led networking events in London under several names: The529, The529 LIVE, BIZ-MIX, Dinner & Dance, Active and Members. Tickets sell through Eventbrite.

Events sites usually go stale. Someone has to copy each new event across by hand, and last month's night sits on the homepage long after it has happened. The site also had three jobs at once: show a first-timer what the room feels like, help regulars find the next date, and give brands a reason to partner.

What we designed and built

The Events page reads straight from The 529's Eventbrite account each time the site builds: title, date, venue, price, poster and ticket link. When the team publishes, edits or unpublishes an event on Eventbrite, a webhook starts a fresh build, so the change reaches the site without anyone touching the code. Ticket sales alone do not trigger a rebuild. If Eventbrite cannot be reached, the build falls back to a saved list instead of failing.

The homepage opens on The 529's own recap footage, cut landscape for desktop and vertical for phones. Gallery photos are filed by event and appear under the right filter on the next build, with portrait shots kept portrait.

Every form is our own rather than a third-party service: general enquiries, partnership enquiries, speaker enquiries and newsletter signups, all emailed to the team from The 529's own domain.

Where it stands

Live on the529.co.uk since August 2026. New events reach the site from Eventbrite instead of being copied in by hand.
